I’m feeling crazy overwhelmed right now and all I want to do is curl up in my bed and read. But I found WWW Wednesday on this blog I’ve been reading and I decided to do it! So! Here’s what I’m reading now for anyone who’s curious. Clicking on the images should link you to their Goodreads page if you want to find out more.
I’m currently reading…
Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton. I’m not going to summarize it so I don’t give away spoilers, but if you haven’t read Rebel of the Sands, go get it now! So good!! Anyway, I don’t know why I didn’t start reading this when I got it. It’s taken me too long to get to. I forgot how much I love her books! I ordered this version from Book Depository because I like it better than the American edition. It’s a major pet peeve of mine when books have people on the cover because they’re never how I picture them. Anyway, I should have a review up for it soon after I finish it! But so far, I really like it. It’s kept me just as invested as the first one. It’s also much longer, so I’m excited about that.
What I most recently finished is….
The Ancient Magus’ Bride Vol. 2 by Kore Yamazaki. It’s a manga, so not what I usually talk about on my blog but I love this series so much! I’ve been struggling to find a good manga lately and after I read the first volume of this, I fell in love! It’s about a girl named Chise with magical powers who’s been passed around from relative to relative. She ends up with a magician and becomes his apprentice. It’s got fantasy and cats! Always a plus with me. Also, there’s an element of romance because he keeps talking about marrying Chise, but he doesn’t ever make a move. He’s super sweet to her and I ship it! I know, it’s weird. He doesn’t have a human head, but it’s just cute, okay? Anyway, I heard they’re going to make an anime for it. There’s already an OVA, but I want to finish reading it before I watch them. I usually don’t review manga here, but I’ll post a review when I finish the series or catch up to what’s out in English.
What will I read next…
I have no idea! Seriously though, I hate trying to decide what to read after library trips because I have so many books on my pile but I think I’ll end up going with We Are Okay by Nina LaCour. It’s pretty short and I’m falling behind on my reading goal for this year because I’ve been in a reading slump. Here’s the blurb from Goodreads so I don’t screw up the summary.
“You go through life thinking there’s so much you need…
Until you leave with only your phone, your wallet, and a picture of your mother.
Marin hasn’t spoken to anyone from her old life since the day she left everything behind. No one knows the truth about those final weeks. Not even her best friend, Mabel. But even thousands of miles away from the California coast, at college in New York, Marin still feels the pull of the life and tragedy she’s tried to outrun. Now, months later, alone in an emptied dorm for winter break, Marin waits. Mabel is coming to visit, and Marin will be forced to face everything that’s been left unsaid and finally confront the loneliness that has made a home in her heart.”
So, that’s where my reading stands at the moment. Have you read We Are Okay? How is it? Feel free to comment on my list and let me know if I need to add something to my to read list! If you’re interested in doing a WWW list, I found it here.

Rebel of the Sands and Traitor to the Throne look good! I like when good books are long. You get to enjoy the stay more 😀
Agreed! Long good books are amazing!! Like the Lunar Chronicles, I love how they got progressively longer. So much more to love!!
