A few weeks ago was Hufflepuff pride day, which I celebrated as a proud Hufflepuff. I didn’t find this tag until a couple days ago, but I definitely had to do it! I originally found this tag on Ericarobynreads. Check it out!

1. Hard work- Name a difficult read that you were proud to have finished.

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo is definitely a difficult read that I’m proud of. I have to say the political chapters were not very interesting, but the story is just so good. If you’re a huge fan of Les Miserables, you should definitely power through it. Skip the political chapters if you want though… Nothing too great there… Tangent, Eponine is so adorable and I love her and UGH! So sad!

2. Patience- Name a book with a slow start that you almost gave up on, but ended up loving.

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. I was a bit off-put at first but by the middle I was enthralled. A great YA read!

3. Loyalty- Name one of your favorite loyal sidekicks.

Helene from An Ember in the Ashes. Yes, she is one of the main characters in the second one, but this counts, right? She’s such a loyal friend and a badass. I just love her!! UGH!!

Best sidekick! Helene all the way!

4. Fair play- Name a book or series that frustrated you because things just didn’t seem fair.

Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine was definitely one of those books. I felt so bad for the characters and their situation. I’m sure it gets better in the next book, but I haven’t been able to talk myself into picking up the next one when I have so many other books that sounds more appealing.

5. Newt Scamander (Magizoologist)- Name a book with creatures that you would like to see come to life.

I have to say Fire by Kristen Cashore! The animals in this book sounded so beautiful and unique!

A fantastic book with Beautiful animals!
6. Cedric Diggory (Prefect, Captain & Seeker for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, Triwizard Champion)- Name a character that is a great leader.

Ooh Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles! The best part is watching her grow. By the last book in the series Cinder has become a strong capable leader who’s ready for her future.

7. Pomona Sprout (Professor of Herbology & Head of Hufflepuff House)- Name a book with a character in the teaching profession.

I’m going to go with The Testing for this one. It’s a series that doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. No, it’s not amazing, but it’s still really good. And though the teachers aren’t memorable, they are there!

8. Nymphadora Tonks (Auror & member of the Order of the Phoenix)- Name a strong female character.

The hardest part of this is narrowing it down… I’m going to go with Yelena from Poison Study. She was a likeable character and she’s just so awesome! Plus, the first book in that series is fantastic. I loved the second one as well, but never finished the third one because it was just not nearly as good….

A book with a strong female character!

9. Fat Friar (House Ghost)- Name a book that you would like to get more attention.

So many of these!!! But I’m going to go with The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things. I loved this book and I didn’t understand why it didn’t get hyped. It’s better than so many YA contemporaries I’ve read. It’s nothing like her other series, so no worries there. Just read it, kay? kay!

A book that deserves more hype!
10. Helga Hufflepuff (Founder of the Hufflepuff house)- Name your favorite bookish organization (real or fictional).

OwlCrate society. They’re on facebook. They’re just a really fun readers community where we talk about books, bookboxes, share memes, etc. So fun! You can find them here!

11. Hengist of Woodcroft (Founder of Hogsmeade)- Name a world/town/setting/etc. of a book that you would love to visit.

This one isn’t as exciting, but I’d love to visit the Lunar Chronicles universe. (After the series is over of course, haha!) But especially France. The Benoit farm just sounds so beautiful! Plus, I’d get to hang out with Scarlet and Wolf, so win-win!

12. House Colors (Yellow and Black)- Name a book with a cover that is mainly yellow and black.

I actually found more of these than I thought I would! Eventually I decided on Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers, though Hunger Games would have probably fit a bit better. I love this series so much! This one might be my favorite if I had to pick one. Sybella has a really hard life, but she’s still so strong.

 Black and Yellow book

  1. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? This is like the fourth tag I’ve found in the last couple of days that I want to do. Well, I’m obligated to do this one as proud Hufflepuff.
I’ve only read Poison Study from this list. There are so many strong females in the YA world and you picked a good one. I have to get on with that series already!

    1. Hahaha, well I’m glad that you want to do it! It was a fun tag! Poison Study was so good! It was definitely my favorite in the series. The later ones just aren’t quite as good. I can’t wait to read it! Let me know when you post it!
