So, however you feel about Taylor Swift, book tags are fun. I personally enjoy her music and this tag looked like a lot of fun. So here is my version of the Taylor Swift book tag! You can see the original post on youtube here. I personally found the tag on Becoming Bookish.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with a book tag, it’s basically a bunch of prompts related to a theme. In this case the theme is Taylor Swift songs. It’s pretty self-explanatory, so read on!
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – (A book or series that you were pretty sure that you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with)
I’ve got to go with The Testing Series by Joelle Charbonneau. I read the first one and loved it!! But by the end of the series, I was so done. Never going to reread them again… Thanks for the disappointment.
Red – (Pick a book with red on the cover)
I’m going with Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. I read it a long time ago, but that series has a fond place in my heart. It’s nothing spectacular, but purty cute.
The Best Day – (Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic)
I’m thinking Hunger Games for this one. I read this right when I was falling in love with the YA genre. Though it has many flaws, Hunger Games will forever remind me of before college when I read books that were so edgy (or so I thought). But to be fair I wasn’t allowed to read Harry Potter or Twilight because they were ‘dark’… But I thought Hunger Games was so edgy and badass… Yeah…
Love Story – (Pick a book with forbidden love)
Delirium by Lauren Oliver. This was another book I read a while ago, but I really enjoyed it. Plus, the premise is just really cool. And this is the definition of a book with forbidden love to the max. It’s nothing new, but if you haven’t read it, you should check it out!
I Knew You Were Trouble – (Pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love)
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I have this really strong interest in Warren. Like, I hate him, but yet, I don’t. Don’t hate me (or spoiler me) but I haven’t read the third one. I put it off for too long and now I have to reread the series so I remember exactly what’s going on. Stupid, I know. One day I will get there!
Innocent – (Pick a book that somebody ruined the end for)
This one wasn’t a specific person, but I’ve never really been spoilered about anything. I have very good friends and I know where to stay away from online to be safe. But I knew how Me Before You ended before I read it, so the ending wasn’t shocking to me at all. It’s a fantastic read, I highly recommend it! The sequel? Companion? Not so much…
Everything Has Changed – (Pick a character who goes through extensive character development)
Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I love how, even though the series is told form so many different characters perspectives, you still get to watch Cinder grow and progress and become a *minor spoiler alert* wonderful ruler. It helps that the story isn’t told only from her perspective, because you get to see her through the lense of another character and it reveals more and more about her.
You Belong with Me (Pick your most anticipated book release)
Tash Hearts Tolstoy by Kathryn Ormsbee. It just sounds so unique and I’m so excited!! Not pre-ordered yet, but definitely on my want to purchase list. Comes out in June.
Forever and Always – (Pick your favorite book couple)
Thorne and Cress. Forever and Always. Because yes. If you haven’t read The Lunar Chronicles, you should at least read it for those two. Just. So. Cute.
Come Back, Be Here (Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much)
I hate lending out my manga because it’s so easy to bend the covers. I have one (Fruits Basket Vol. 16) that the front cover is bent in half and it makes me want to cry whenever I look at it. So, manga is safe! Only one friend is allowed to borrow them. I’ll go with Say I Love You because it’s a recent acquisition that I’m in love with.

Teardrops On My Guitar – (PIck a book that made you cry a lot)
The Serpent King, hands down. (We Are Okay gets a close second, but I just talked about it a few posts ago.) The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner is amazing! I’m not a huge fan of contemporary but this one man… My husband who isn’t a huge YA fan read it and creid a few manly tears. So good! Go read it! Read it now!
Shake it Off – (Pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters)
The Host by Stephanie Meyer. I know, I know. I didn’t think it was as boring through the first third as everyone thought. Plus, the plot was so thought provoking. Fight me, I like it!

What a fun book tag! I have to admit, I like The Host too. The second half made for a good read!
I know, right? I feel like it received a lot of undeserved criticism just because of the author… Had she just trimmed the first half… And maybe published it under a pen name, haha!
